- I appreciate all of you who continue to follow the protocols for Mass. Using face masks, social distancing, and receiving communion in our hands behind a protective shield is keeping us safe from spreading COVID at Mass. Because of social distancing which includes sitting 6 feet away from other families and skipping every other pew, the 9:30 am is full every Sunday. If you plan to return to Mass soon you might consider coming on Saturday 5 pm instead. But we will make every effort to accommodate you and late comers in the gathering area and office area if necessary.
- Bathrooms are open during Mass in case of an urgent need. If you leave, try not to walk too close to other families in the pews. Remember that you will not be allowed to return to the same place in the Church. After you have used the bathroom the usher will invite you to sit in the back of the church to avoid crossing over other families again.
- The New Family Faith Formation team is getting ready for an exciting year. We will have an orientation next Sunday the 20th in-between Masses in both English and Spanish from 10:45 – 11:45 am. It will be repeated on Tuesday the 22nd in Spanish at 7 pm and in English on Wednesday the 23rd at 7 pm. All families must register for the program.
- The Youth Ministry team also requests that all families with teens from 7th – 12th grades to register and participate in the orientation meeting on September 20th at 6:30 pm in the school gym.
- More than anything I want to support the families of St Joseph in a new way. Please be attentive to the resources that will be made available on our website, Flocknotes, electronic newsletter, Facebook and through videos from time to time. If you need anything from me, please call the office and ask.
- Finally, I appreciate your ongoing financial support to our parish. But let us not forget that being Catholic is also reflected in our support of our Diocesan Church. Please pledge to our Diocesan Catholic Appeal and help St Joseph’s parish meet our quota. We have received $16,395 on pledges, short $25,160.
- I hope to see you at Mass this weekend. If you are staying home because of health concerns. I completely understand. But please do not forget to observe Lord’s Day by reflecting on the Sunday readings and/or by watching Mass on the St Joseph Amarillo YouTube Channel.
